The Bergqvist family who run Quinta da la Rosa have port production in their blood. They can trace the family back to its German roots when the Feuerheerds from Hamburg began trading in port in 1805. Quinta de la Clara was bought as a Christening present to the current head of the family’s mother. Now run by father and daughter team, this small concern has always won critical acclaim for its port, now they are branching out with the exceptionally good value range of Vale da Clara wines whose grapes only come form A graded vineyards.
