Allegrini has been an important wine name in the area since the 16th century.
The wines of Allegrini are impeccable from the classic Valpolicella to the innovative IGT and the top class Amarone. Wine-making traditions have been handed down from generation to generation but Giovanni Allegrini, the late father of the current owners, questioned established viticultural techniques and set about revolutionising them, thus improving the quality of the grapes. The 70 hectares the family own are planted with 70% Corvina, 25% Rondinella and 5% Sangiovese. The grapes for the Valpolicella come form vines with an average age of 26 years, are kept in glass-lined cement tanks and bottled 4 months after harvest. The intense and purity of the fruit make this a deliciously accessible wine.
