Château Duluc-Ducru

A fourth growth estate.

Château Duluc-Ducru is the second wine of Château Branaire-Ducru, a fourth growth estate in St-Julien, situated across the road from Château Beychevelle which in fact owned it until 1680 when Jean-Bapiste Braynere bought it. It has been through several ownerships since then, the De Lucs possessing the Château during the French revolution and suffering rather difficult times! The current owner is the Maroteaux family who bought the property in 1988. Under the direction of Patrick Maroteaux the wines are some of the most consistent in the area. The Duluc-Ducru is a wine which can be aged for about five years, is supple and appealing.
