Recommended by Wine International magazine and Oz Clarke in his 2005 Wine Buying Guide, we agree wholeheartedly with their tasting appraisal! The wine is 100% Burgundian in style, being elegant and crisp with a slightly mineral quality. A buttery nose informs of the oak flavours on the palate, which is well balanced by the lean fruit. A fine food wine which delivers well on both the nose and in the mouth.

Alex Gambal Alex Gambal is an American who took a year or twos sabbatical in Burgundy in 1992 and has remained there ever since. Initially he exported wine but since 1997 he has developed his own label as a negociant, buying in grapes and grape must and then producing and maturing the wine himself. Alex believes strongly in as little intervention as possible in the wine-making process, so much of it is done by hand and with no fining or filtering for the reds and only light filtering for the whites. This then retains the unadulterated characteristics of the terroir of each site the grapes are from, as well as maintaining the traditional style of true Burgundy.
