	Gewurztraminer “Andromède” Sélection Grains Nobles, Domaine Mittnacht Frères 1997 A wine of outstanding quality, made in very small quantities from ‘lieux-dits’. Sélection de Grains Nobles wines are only made in exceptional vintages and when the grapes are affected by ‘Noble Rot’. The wine has a concentrated sweetness overlaid with enough acidity to balance the wine. The marmalade and honey flavours are rich and powerful on the nose and palate and work perfectly with many different desserts. It will mature and develop for several years.

Domaine Mittnacht Frères
This winery was created in the early 1960’s when two brothers combined their establishments but in effect it has been around for many generations, run by one of their ancestors, and is now run by two cousins Christophe and Marc. The vineyards are enviably situated between Ribeauville and Hunawihr and include two excellent Grands Crus sites. This is classic Rielsing country but their Gewürztraminers are also wonderful. The grapes are organically grown, as well as being cultivated biodynamically.
