	Fitou Vieilles Vignes, Domaine de Roudène 2001 A typical regional blend of 40% each of Carignan and Grenache and 20% Syrah, this Fitou has a bright and intense ruby colour, a powerful nose of earthy black fruit, a slight leather quality with a fabulous spicy characteristic. On the palate it is rich and smooth and has a depth and length unmatched by its price.

Domain de Roudène
Situated in the small village of Paziols in Fitou, Domaine de Roudène is run by husband and wife, Jean Pierre and Bernadette Faixo and their son Sylvain. The 14 hectare vineyard is beautifully sited in the heart of the great bowl of Fitou, where the very best wines of the appellation are made. Planted with old vine Carignan, Grenache and a little Syrah, yields are kept low and vinification is traditional with a long fermentation and wood maturation, giving the wines some real class and style.
