	Sancerre, Domaine Sauterau 2003 Sancerre has been a favourite in the UK for over 30 years with little reason for its favourable position to be questioned. The fact that Sauvignon Blanc is also one of the most admired white grapes amongst consumers at present ensures its popularity for a good while yet. Prices are now stable and quality is high. Dry, medium-bodied and aromatic, an elegant wine by a careful producer.

Domaine Sauterau
This family estate is now being run by son, David Sautereau, who is producing modern attractive style wines which offer value for money. There are 20 hectares of vineyard situated in Crezany, Bué and Sancerre, providing a range of soils giving a wide diversity of components when blending the wines from the different terroirs. The wines have a definitive mineral quality combining perfectly with the aromatic gooseberry character of the nose from the Sauvignon grape. This is an estate worth watching.
