Cerro de Masso
This 50 hectare estate is Alberto Antonini’s family property – he who is greatly influential in the Borgo Selene label. He has spent the last decade replanting vineyards and transforming the estate from a property that sold grapes to the local co-operative, to one that produces its own quality wine. The vineyards are sited on the beautiful rolling hills which are south and southwest facing, having good exposure to the Tuscan sunshine. Sangiovese is by far the most important grape but Alberto is planting more Merlot on the sites which have a higher clay content, as this variety is particularly suited to this type of soil. The estate is going from strength to strength with their very appealing Chianti.
