	Legitim Crianza, De Muller 2000 A fabulous introduction to this ‘superstar region of the future’, De Muller’s Legitim is a snip at £10.65 because its quality is outstanding. It is a serious and complex wine, with jammy aromas intermingled with caramel and treacle overtones. The fruit is pure damson jam with a dash of pepper for good measure. A food wine which will mature for several years.

A little known DO in Catalonia, which interestingly is, in fact, one of Spain’s oldest, and being heralded now as a super-star area of the immediate future. The area is dry and hot, with poor soil and the local saying goes that vines grown here must be able to suck moisture out of a stone.
