	Ch Fleur Cardinale, St.-Emilion Grand Cru 1999 This is a Grand Cru wine disguised as the very best Grand Cru Classé and seeking to be elevated to this level in the near future. It is certainly one of the finest sites in St Emilion and has recently profited from new ownership which has invested heavily in the winery. The winemaking team has remained and continues to make exceptionally fine, balanced wine endowed with red and black fruit a smoky nuance and wonderful concentration. This could be cellared for 10 -15 years.

This property was recently purchased by M. Decoster who, new to the wine business, wisely retained the working team but also invested in a new state of the art cellar and financial outlay continues in the vineyard with the aim of becoming a Grand Cru Classé in the future. Yields are low and the vines are grown on chalky limestone soils and are matured for 18-22 months in barrel. The Merlot dominated wine is gentle, harmonious and beautifully balanced and a perfect example of a delicious St-Emilion Grand Cru.
